New supplies & rerouting

New water supplies, split supplies and pipes rerouted.

Plenty of houses round here share a supply pipe with next door, sometimes several doors. It works until one of you has a leak, a pressure problem or a sale, and then it does not.

We lay new individual supplies, split shared ones, reroute pipes that are in the way of an extension, and run new supplies to garden rooms, annexes and new builds. As an approved installer, Craig works alongside the water company on their side of the connection.

Working with the water company

Your side, laid ready for theirs

A new connection or a split supply is a job in two halves. The water company does the bit in the road; we do everything on your side, laid and tested to their standard so their part is quick.

  • New supplies for builds and annexes
  • Shared supplies split into individual ones
  • Pipes rerouted around extensions
  • Multiple supplies to blocks and terraces
  • Laid ready for the water company connection
  • Approved installer, self-certified work

New supplies & rerouting

Shared supplies

Semis and terraces were often built with one pipe off the main feeding two or more houses. Splitting it gives each house its own pipe, its own stop tap and often its own meter, which settles who is responsible for what and usually improves the pressure for everyone.

New supplies and connections

For a new build, an annexe or a property being split, we lay the new supply from the boundary to the building, ready for the water company to make their connection. Where several supplies leave one point, they are laid out on a manifold with a valve for each.

Rerouting

If an extension, a garage or a new patio is going over the top of the supply pipe, it needs to move first. We reroute it round the new footprint before the builders get there, so nobody is digging footings into a live water main.

Questions

New supplies & rerouting: common questions

We share a supply with next door. Do we both have to agree?

If you are splitting a shared pipe, the work usually touches both properties, so yes, it goes much more smoothly if everyone is on board. It is often worth splitting the cost, since everyone gets their own supply out of it.

Who arranges the water company’s side?

You apply to the water company for any new connection in the road. We can tell you what to apply for and lay everything on your side so it is ready when they come.

Can you work on commercial sites and blocks of flats?

Yes. Multiple supplies, communal pipework and commercial sites are all regular work.
